Our Savior Lutheran Church has a unique and inclusive way of providing Christian Education for our youth (Prekindergarten to Grade 6). On Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:30 we have introduced PATH. It is called PATH because we believe all Christians, including our youngest, are on a journey in their faith and through the Bible. This is just one part of that “path” that they will follow in their lives. PATH is led by several committed congregational members and the parents of all children who attend. All parents of eligible children are invited to attend and we require at least one adult to accompany younger children (Prekindergarten). Our Confirmation students (grade 6) are also invited to the opening, snacks and closing activities of PATH. We start the evening with an opening fellowship time led by the Pastor to introduce the lesson for the week. PATH uses the SPARK curriculum as a guide for our lessons. After opening, children are offered a snack and then off to the activities for each lesson (PreK-Grade 5) or confirmation classes (Grades 6). The evening ends with a final gathering of everyone to celebrate what they have learned and to send them on their way for the week. PATH allows us to follow the OSLC Mission: That all may know Christ, grow in Christ and joyfully go with Christ.
During COVID, the Education Ministry Team made the decision not to hold in person PATH events in order to keep our children and adults safe and well. Each month, parents will receive a packet of SPARK Christian Education materials to implement at home with their children. We are committed to providing parents with what they need in order to support the Christian education journey for their own children. We look forward to beginning in person PATH events when we are able to hold them safely. If you are not receiving the monthly SPARK materials, please contact Kris Robinson at 402-375-2899.
We are always looking for committed adults who would like to support this ministry. Please contact Kris Robinson with your name and number so that someone may contact you.
